Video Refelction
After creating my own video, it was interesting to go back and watch how creative other people were with their videos. I tried to incorporate things I learned from the tutorials I watched. Things like background, light, and cutaway. Also, at the beginning I tried playing with different camera angles too. it took much longer than I expected to create such a short video. I'm also not very creative, so trying to figure out how I wanted to film the video took a while. I think the more practice I have with recording, editing, and getting familiar with all the tools available to me, my videos will become more creative and professional looking. I also learned how useful this can be as a teaching tool. Parents with busy schedules can see first hand what their children are doing in school when they don't have the time to drop by in person. The video is a creative and easily accessible way to introduce yourself, lessons, and much more.

This will help students and parents stay updated on their work and progress in the class. If any concerns or questions arise about assignment scores or grades, feel free to contact me.

Tech in class
Well, first I think that it is very important for kids in today's society to have access to technology in the classroom setting. The world seems to revolve around technology, networking, and competence in technology. Many students ahve access to technology in their homes, and when using this same technology in the classroom, they will hopefully leran responsibility and accountability through using it. I am actually teaching tomorrow at Castle High School using a power point presentation. This technique can be taught to the students for doing their own presentations eventually, and in today's business world especially, this is an important skill to have. I hope to use technology in my classroom to help with research and presentations. as a social studies teacher, having access to technology in the classroom will make it easier for the students to location and use reasearch that they would not be able to access otherwise. I never used technology much in the classroom growing up, until more recent years in college. Until recently I only used a computer for my basic needs--writing papers, checking email, etc. As I learn more about the many things we can do with technology in the classroom, the more excited I get about it. How incredible will it be to someday have access to webcam another classroom in another part of the world, to have students work on a project together with those students. Not only would that allow students to learn the material, but allow them to experience working with others interculturally and internationally! What better way to connect people throughout the world!
